Deli Assistant is primarily responsible for preparing, slicing, and serving hot and cold food items while providing excellent customer service. Key duties include managing food safety (HACCP), cleaning equipment, managing stock rotation, preparing sandwiches and salads, and maintaining clean, appealing, well-stocked displays.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Food Preparation & Service:Prepare sandwiches, hot food, salads, and meals, including slicing raw meats and cheeses. Serve customers, fulfill orders, and provide product recommendations.
- Customer Service:Maintain a friendly and efficient attitude to ensure customer satisfaction, handling orders promptly.
- Hygiene & Safety (HACCP):Adhere to food safety regulations, maintain strict hygiene standards, and follow cleaning schedules for equipment and countertops.
- Stock Management:Monitor and rotate stock to ensure freshness, minimize wastage, and restock display cases.
- Merchandising:Set up and maintain attractive displays of products.
- General Maintenance:Perform cleaning duties in both front-of-house and back-area kitchens.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a team:Collaborative skills.
- Food Handling Experience:Previous experience in a deli or fast-paced food environment is often required.
- Equipment Operation:Ability to use slicers, ovens, and weighing scales.
- Communication Skills:Strong verbal skills for customer interaction.

Pay: €14.15-€15.00 per hour
